Program Description

Hub Artsakh is now accepting applications for the MEDIA+ program. The program aims to strengthen the capacity of aspiring journalists and reporters from Artsakh and support them in producing reliable, credible, and high quality media content. MEDIA+ is implemented in partnership with Hetq Media Factory.

The program is designed for young reporters working in Artsakh who are motivated to pursue a career in journalism. Only 15 applicants will be selected to participate in the program.

Program Components

Our goal is to support the 15 journalists participating in the program to create high-quality media content. The program will include:

  • A long-term training program led by local and international experts, during which participants will gain in-depth knowledge in journalism as well as practical skills (including interview techniques, producing multi-format content, photo/video journalism and other creative skills),
  • Individual mentorship by a leading international expert,
  • Access to a local and international professional network, creating the opportunity for future collaboration
  • Access to use technical equipment provided by Hub Artsakh
  • Hub Artsakh membership and the opportunity to work from our inspiring space

Digital You

Program Description

The “Digital You” program at Hub Artsakh aims to empower the women of Artsakh by equipping them with necessary digital skills, as well as soft skills training, to secure remote employment.

All women living in Artsakh are welcome to apply, regardless of their age or any other factors. 20 women will be selected to participate in the program.

Program Components

The goal of the program is to support 20 women with a tailored digital education curriculum in addition to Hub Artsakh’s unique ecosystem, which includes:

  • Individual coaching & mentorship
  • Educational programs and events
  • Membership at Hub Artsakh & the opportunity to work from an inspiring space
  • Peer-to-peer learning
  • A collaborative community and global network
  • Professional networking with local and international creative innovators

The program aims to inspire, connect, and enable women to secure remote employment, working a supportive, inspiring environment.

Idea to Impact

Program Description

The Idea to Impact Program will support 6 entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas and initiatives into business models, motivating and assisting them in taking concrete steps towards implementing their idea.

In light of the blockade of the Lachin corridor since September 2022, the program targets entrepreneurs whose innovative ideas address the crisis situation. The program will prioritize IT solutions in particular.

Program Components

  1. Individual mentorship by entrepreneurs/professionals in their area of practice.
  2. Individual coaching by a certified ICF life coach to improve the not only the business performance but also lives and relationships of participants.
  3. Workshops and training sessions tailored to the participants’ needs.
  4. 3-month membership at Hub Artsakh with access to an inspiring space & office infrastructure
  5. Peer-to-peer learning and networking events.

In case of being selected for the program, all participants must commit to pursue their initiative as a top priority (i.e., with at least 50% of their time) and promise to participate in 100% of programs, events, and community activities at Hub Artsakh.

Hovnanian Youth Fellowship

Program Description

The Hovnanian Youth Fellowship at Hub Artsakh will support young (ages 18-30) social entrepreneurs, individuals, researchers, businesses, or projects engaged in, or interested in, implementing approaches that are focused on one of the topics listed below.

Small Grants Competition

Information

The small grant for innovative ideas aims to develop new and unique ideas related to the overall development of Artsakh.

Artsakh CSOs and unregistered initiatives or groups working towards a positive social impact in Artsakh are welcome to apply.

1-3 projects will each receive at least 500,000 AMD in small grants.

The winners of the program will also members of Hub Artsakh, gaining the opportunity to use our co-working space, as well as to network, participate in events, and utilize our resources.

What is innovation?

Innovation is not just about new programs, projects, or ideas. Innovation also involves new methods of implementation, new project platforms, and new forms of cooperation.

Project timeline

The small grant competition will consist of three stages.

Stage 1. Applicants complete the online application, which summarizes the overall objectives and expected outcomes of the project, and assesses the social impact and innovation of the project.

Stage 2. Up to 10 shortlisted applicants will be invited to a pitching workshop, which will help them present their project goal and implementation plan in a clear, engaging, and captivating way.

Stage 3. Upon successful completion of the workshop , applicants will be invited to a pitching competition. Each applicant will have the opportunity to pitch their project to the selection committee. At the end of the pitching contest, the committee will select the winner(s).

Who can apply?

Artsakh CSOs as well unregistered initiatives and groups working towards a positive social impact in Artsakh are welcome to apply. We are looking for unique and creative collaborations, especially those that bring together different organizations, sectors, and communities and that can demonstrate the power of collaboration and teamwork.

We are interested in proposals from organizations that have never received funding before and/or are not currently involved in any grant programs. We welcome applications from organizations that have difficulties in attaining funding despite having good ideas.

We particularly welcome proposals that:

  • respond to the needs of vulnerable populations
    reduce inequalities;
  • promote social inclusion
    encourage volunteering and mobilization;
  • encourage youth empowerment
    support women and girls

Please note:

  • CSOs/initiatives working in any sector are welcome to apply
  • All programs must be implemented in Artsakh
  • Initiative groups should have experience in implementing projects or initiatives.

Nagorno-Karabakh Entrepreneurship Incubation

Description

The Nagorno-Karabakh Entrepreneurship Incubation Program is an 8-month program by Hub Artsakh and Impact Hub Yerevan that supports young changemakers from Nagorny Karabakh who want to contribute to the development of the region through their entrepreneurial solutions.

Goal & Benefits

The overall objectives of the project are to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nagorny Karabakh and support innovative solutions to post-war issues. The specific objective of the project is to run our first Entrepreneurship Incubation Program that will:

  1. Assist 12 to 15 entrepreneurs and startups to develop, validate and implement their social innovation ideas,
  2. Connect entrepreneurs to a national and international community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and philanthropic investors
  3. Raise awareness about role models of entrepreneurs in Nagorny Karabakh.

The incubation offers the unique ecosystem of Hub Artsakh and Impact Hub Yerevan, including:

  1. Mentorship by entrepreneurs/professionals in their area of practice (each project will be matched with a mentor)
  2. Membership at Hub Artsakh with access to an inspiring space & infrastructure, as well as the opportunity to work from Impact Hub Yerevan three days a month.
  3. Peer-to-peer learning component and professional networking through facilitated events with a community of creative innovators
  4. Learning curriculum designed for social impact startups, including trainings and workshops on financial management, legal management, team management, social entrepreneurship, idea validation, business modeling, fundraising, pitching and public speaking, etc.

Eligibility

Bold and daring teams/individuals implementing solutions to post-war issues that contribute to the development of Nagorny Karabakh are eligible to apply.

Teams selected for the incubation must commit to pursuing their initiative as a top priority (i.e., with at least 80% of their time) and promise to participate in at least 80% of programs, events, and community activities at Hub Artsakh.
