Arevik Anapiosyan
Arevik Anapiosyan is currently the Partnerships and Development Finance Adviser to the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia. Previously, she has served as a Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia. Within her duties she has been responsible for international cooperation, development projects, and strategic planning. Prior to joining the Government she was the Executive Director and the co-founder of the Institute of Public Policy think tank, which has been one of the first education profiled institutions to study policy concerns and challenges in the field of education. In March 2020 she was designated by the UNESCO Director-General to serve at the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics.
Arevik holds MA degrees in Political Science as well as in International Affairs, and she did her studies towards PhD in international law and conflict resolution at the Yerevan State University, Armenia, and the University of Tartu, Estonia. In November 2021 she graduated from the General Management Programme of the Harvard Business School, thus joining the HBS alumni network around the world.
For the last 15 years, Arevik has been actively involved in policy research and advocacy in Armenia and regionally, and her expertise are in development coordination and development finance, education policy development and research, political and corporate leadership, as well as impact financing and ESG. She has been teaching courses on Public Policy and Research, Western Political Thought, as well as Religion and Politics at the Yerevan State University and the American University of Armenia. She was a visiting fellow and completed fellowships at the University of Essex, University of Massachusetts (Amherst), and University of Tartu.
